The well is planned to be drilled to a depth of about 4,000 meters. Primary target is the Late Ordovician Hasirah Sandstone layer at a depth of 3,500 metres (TVD). Tethys Oil has announced that the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Tethys Oil have entered into an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) for Block 58 onshore Oman. The block is located in the southern part of the Sultanate adjacent to Tethys Oil’s operated exploration licence Block 49. Tethys Oil, through Tethys Oil Montasar, is the operator of the Block and holds 50 percent of the license interest.
